greatest and central island).
The same times therefore can vary
in base to the port of arrival,
example:the ship coming from Naples will
reach Stromboli in 9 hours because it is
the first port, and so the hydrofoil
in 4 hours.

Milazzo is the principal port of departure for the Aeolian Islands ; the departures are also numerous in winter. From Reggio Calabria and Messina the most greater number of departures is in the summer period, while in winter period remains just a round and trip.

from these airports:

> Napoli, the airport is connected by bus with the port from where ships and hydrofoil depart.

> Catania, the airport is connected by bus (Giuntabus) directly with the port of Milazzo (from 1/4 to 30/9) and with varius daily departures to the port of Messina (Sais).

> Reggio Calabria, the airport is connected by bus with the port of di Reggio Calabria and Messina to every arrival of airplane.

> Palermo, the airport is connected every hour by bus to the centre of the city where you can get the train to Milazzo or the hydrofoil directly to the Aeolian Islands.

Useful railways:

> Milazzo, it's the railway-station more used . Form where every 1/2 hour start
a bus to the port.

> Messina, from the railway-station to the port (Snav hydrofoil) there is 1 km of distance. If you don't get a Snav hydrofoil , you have to go by bus (Giuntabus) to Milazzo.

> Napoli, the recommended railway station to get the ship (Siremar) is Piazza Garibaldi, while to the hydrofoil port (Snav) is recommended Napoli Mergellina.
